Barry Horner

Chair of PN Board and Head of EO Business Development

In 2001 Barry co-founded Paradigm Norton. Some twenty-two years later the firm has won over 27 professional awards, employs a team of 93 and has clients who have entrusted the team to manage over £1.7b of their funds.

In 2019, the firm became employee owned and a ‘B’ Corporation. At the 2023 ‘B’ Corp re-certification, Paradigm Norton received one of the highest scores in the UK, something that the wider team are incredibly proud of.

Barry is a former Board member of the Institute of Financial Planning and was the President of the Institute between 2008 and 2010. Between 2016 and 2020 Barry served on the Board and as Chair of the US-based Financial Planning Standards Board. This organisation seeks to benefit the global community by establishing, upholding and promoting worldwide professional standards in financial planning.

As the Executive Chair and former CEO of Paradigm Norton, it’s Barry’s responsibility to ensure that the firm stays ahead of the curve, continually innovates and maintains its values-based approach to all that Paradigm Norton does. Barry is a regular speaker at financial planning conferences and events both in the UK and internationally.

Outside of work

Barry’s mantra has always been ‘work hard, play hard’. He loves ‘business building’ and growing and working with a team of amazingly talented financial planners and tax professionals. When Barry is not in one of the four offices, he can usually be found in the Lake District with his wife, three boys and dog, or, during the ski season, on the slopes in Chamonix. Barry loves business in all its guises. He spends his free time helping his three sons build their various businesses.
